From Abundance to Intention
Historically, luxury was synonymous with excess—a curated display of wealth designed to impress at first glance. Today, that once-boisterous language has softened into a profound quietude. Contemporary luxury is no longer a contest of visibility, but a masterclass in edited restraint—it is defined not by how much can be added, but by how much can be stripped away, without losing its soul of its design. As Santi Musmeci, Founder of Plusout Design Studio, tells Tatler Homes regarding the studio’s latest project, Villa IW: «True refinement does not need to scream; it whispers.» An emerging philosophy that finds its unique voice through the purity of space, the play of light, and the quiet power of proportion rather than the noise of decoration.
